Abstract

The sixth edition of 'Child Development' is designed to be a better teaching tool for instructors. It discusses scientific studies of child development and principles of development. The prenatal stage and the effects of birth on development are also discussed. It further explores physical development, motor development, speech development, emotional development and social development. It goes further to explain social adjustments, play development, development of creativity, development of understanding and moral development. Lastly, it talks about some common childhood interests, sex-role development, family relationships and personality development.
