Abstract

The book among many things postulates how educational psychology is a tool for effective teaching. It further discusses cognitive and language development , social contexts and socialemotional development, individual variations, and socialcultural diversity. It explains exceptional learners, behavioral and social cognitive approaches, the information-processing approachs, and complex cognitive processes. The book further looks at social constructivist approaches, learning and cognition in the content areas, and planning, instruction and technology. Finally, planning, teaching and learning, classroom management, standardized tests and teaching, and classroom assessment are discussed.
