The book discusses among other things, what educational psychology is, the uniqueness of each human being, and the common trends in development and learning. It further explores the developing child, how learning takes place, and how thinking and learning abilities develop. It also studies ways in which ideas about thinking and learning can influence educational methods and provision. Furthermore, the school's role in developing healthy personalities, discipline and the school's responsibility for moral development, and understanding one's self as a teacher are explained. Finally, the book looks at educational assessment, guidance and counselling, and psychology and the curriculum. |
