Abstract

The seventh edition of 'Child Development' was designed to prepare instructional goals for students of child development. It discusses the major theories in child development and looks at the research strategies for investigating child development.Furthermore, it explores the knowledge of both the sequence of child development and the processes that underlie it. The impact of context and culture in development is explained, as well as the joint contributions of biology and environment to development. It further explains the interdependency of physical, cognitive, emotional, and social aspects of development. Lastly, it shows the interrelatedness of theory, research, and applications.
