Abstract
'Lend us your Ears' is about getting students to listen to and understand information so they can get achieve better results. It offers techniques that help guide desired responses from students. It explores the concept of listening and analyses why some children have particular difficulties in visualizing and verbalizing what they hear and read. The book also considers the mental strategies involved in making images from words, retaining them and recalling them to make a response. It further examines how reading can be taught and lastly considers issues such as resources, pacing and practice activities, levels of ability and achievement to help teachers develop effective classroom listening in their students.
